reproductive life.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PCOD & PCOS
In PCOD the ovaries start releasing immature eggs ,which leads to hormonal imbalance
and swollen ovaries. While PCOS is an endocrine disorder,where the ovaries produce excessive androgen
which makes eggs prone to become cysts.In Ayurveda it is considered as Arthava kshaya and Arthava dushti.
ETIOPATHOGENESIS
Insulin resistance (Primarily in pcod due to lack of physical activities and intake of rich carbohydrate food) and hyperandrogenism(There is no defect Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Ovarian axis But normal function masked by inhibition of ovarian follicular development And inappropriate feedback to pituitary,The high OestrogenProduction Is largely due to Conversion of Androgen to Oestrogen In the ovary And peripharly .It increases LH and decrease In FSH) plays an important role.
